大掃除とまではいかないけれど、２日にかけていつもより念入りにお掃除しました。
その間、買い出しにいったり、元旦の準備をしたり、

友人の焼いてくれたビスコッティとコーヒーで一息入れたり。
飾り棚には普段飾っているモノトーンの絵の代わりに、
前回日本に行ったときに伯母とお揃いで買った
染職図案家である吉田龍史さんの「花鳥」のカードを飾りました。
写真では見えにくいですが、ゴールドもたくさん使われていて絶佳です。

I have cleaned the entire house for the coming new year.

愉しいクリスマスをお過ごしになられましたか？
私たちは島に住んでいるお義母さんの家に集まってワイワイ過ごし、
翌日のボクシングデーに朝一のフェリーで帰宅しました。
帰宅途中、車の中から朝日が昇るのを見ていたのですが、
それがとても鮮やかで素敵でした。
１２月もそろそろ終盤ですね。

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
We visited my husband's mother and her husband who live on an island.
Honestly, my mother-in-law makes the best turkey dinner on earth!
We came home on Boxing Day by getting on the first ferry
and saw a beautiful sunrise on the way.
I have put away Christmas decorations already
because I'm going to be busy preparing for the new year in a few days.

冬至も過ぎ、最後のアドヴェント。

今年は計画を立てて早めに

準備に取りかかったお陰で慌てて何かをすることもなく、

コーヒーと冬らしい音楽でゆっくりの日曜日。
せっかくなのでクリスマスの香り、
フランキンセンス（乳香）と

ミルラ（没薬）を焚きました。

The winter solstice has passed and here is the last advent.

There's not much left for us to do before Christmas 

because we were very wise to get Christmas preparation started early this year.

Having a cup of coffee and listening to wintery music are so nice and cosy,
and they are just what we need before attending family gatherings!

The show windows of Tiffany and Co. were like the smaller version of Disneyland.
