The diner we kept going back was owned by a family with Chinese background
and they served both Western and Chinese food.
There had been tons of this type of restaurants around here,
but as the city grew and became modernized, many of those would quietly disappear.
At our favourite diner, we always had breakfast;
my choice was easy-over eggs, bacon, and slices of white toast.
Breakfast is easy to make (and cheap) at home,
but it was always fun to go to the diner for it on weekends.
When my hubby (boyfriend at that time) took me there for the first time,
the owner's wife was carrying a baby, who turned nine this year. Nine!
Coffee too hot to drink, day old newspaper,
and this restaurnt's indescribable atmosphere of old and sweet...
Oh, I'll miss this place.
