近くで行われていたミュージックフェスティバルを覗いて、

古本屋さんの中にあるイタリアンコーヒーショップで

本を物色している間にカプチーノを注文して、

新しくなった市民ホール（兼図書館）で私と娘の分の図書カードも作り、

マーケットでピーチを買うという土曜日。
都会的なところもなければ洗練されてもいない。
電車も通っていないし、車を運転しない私には大変なこともあるけれど、

この町のいいところは、すべてが大きすぎず、
アットホームな雰囲気のところかな。

There's neither urbanity nor sophistication,
but I'm fond of the atmosphere of this small town I live in.

一面にカラフルな切手が貼られた封筒を持って、
すっごく素敵な小包が届いてるわよ！と郵便屋さんが届けてくれたのは

娘と同い年の赤ちゃんがいるお友達から。

日本滞在中にはおうちに遊びに行かせてもらって、すごく楽しかった。

彼女のおうちはずーっと居着いてしまいたいくらい心地良かったです。

時間、ぜんぜん足りなかった〜

そのときに娘が着ていたのがブルーのリバティだったのを覚えていてくれて、

このマカロンケースもブルーを選んでくれたそうです。
パールもついていて、紐もレザーでとってもかわいい♥

そしてお義母さまが編んでくれたドイリーも、編み目が美しくてびっくり。

額に入れて飾りたいな。娘のお部屋がいいかな。

I am happy to have someone who think about us even though we live far away from her.
My friend sent me an adorable small macaron case
in the colour of my daughter's dress, which she was wearing when we last saw each other.
(I love Liberty patterns! Her dress was also Liberty at that time too.)
There were also beautiful doilies her mother-in-law had knitted.
They're too pretty and I don't want to ruin, so I'm going to frame them!

公園の木の下にはたくさんの木の実。

まだ青いけれど、中身がなくなっていたものがほとんどでした。

リスが食べちゃったのかなあ。

We found a tree surrounded by a lot of fallen nut shells on the ground.

Hazelnuts?

これまで使っていたおもちゃに娘が飽きてきたので、

積み木やおままごとで使うトマトとマッシュルームを加えたらすごい食い付き。
積み木は私が組み立てたものを壊すか舐めるかだけど…

危ないので三角形のはまだ封印中。

絵本は大好きで１日に４冊くらい読んでいます。

ボーッと聞いているときと手を伸ばして絵に触ろうとするときと、

その絵本によって反応が違って面白いです。

赤ちゃんでも好みがあって、個性があるんだなあ。

We gave our eight month old daughter a small set of colourful wooden blocks
because she didn't seem like enjoying the toys (mostly made with soft fabrics and/or silicons)
she'd already had, and she loves the blocks!
She also likes reading time.
I read about four books to her daily, and her reactions to the books are so different.
I understand she already has her preference on things.
Such a tiny individual human being she is!

お目汚しですが・・・やっとお庭が整ってきました。

カウチに座ったままのポジションで、私のコンテナガーデンが見える幸せ。

I love looking at my plants through a window 

while sitting on our couch with a cup of morning coffee.

妹にふたり目の赤ちゃん誕生♪

娘にも新しいイトコができました。

Our daughter has gotten a new girl cousin!

普段食べるヨーグルトを変えてみた。

ガラスの小瓶に入っているところがいいな。

I have switched my daily yogurt to the one in cute glass jars.

カナダデー。

グランビルアイランドへ行き娘のお洋服を買って、

主人のお気に入りのチーズ屋さんで食材を買って、

クウィーンエリザベス公園のバラ園を散歩しながらピクニックへ。

チーズ屋さんのダックのパテの美味しいこと！
娘もパクパク食欲旺盛。
チーズはまだカッテージチーズしかあげていないので迷ったけれど、
ほんの少しだけレッドレスターをあげたら喜んで食べていました。
ピクニックに行くと娘がものすごく楽しそうにしてくれるので、
毎週お外でごはんの我が家です。

Canada day.
We went to Granville Island first,
then dropped by my hubby's favoutite cheese shop
to get some food for a picnic at Queen Elizabeth Park.
The duck pate we got was so delicious on a piece of baguette with cheese!
Our daughter got a chance to try a teeny bit of red leicester too.
(the one in her mouth was not leicester)
She loves picnics so much; we can't have enough!
